Hello, my name is Ollie.
Ólafur Árdal started working as a photographer and videographer when recruited for camera operation on a documentary shoot in 2014. Since then, working with brands like Icelandair, MS (Mjólkursamsalan), COWI, and Innnes ehf.
Ólafur now works as a marketing consultant and producer for digital marketing firm Birta Media. There, he oversees production, photography, web design and publication for a variety of small to medium-sized clients.
On the weekends, Ólafur works for Morgunblaðið as a photojournalist. Usually the only photographer on-shift, he is required to tackle a variety of challenges and assignments every shift, from sports and politics, to protests and breaking news.
Services
Ólafur offers a number of different services. Amongst which are portrait, event, sports, and other commercial photography, which includes editing and photo manipulation. For DP and video work, Ólafur can work as a single-man operation, taking care of videography, sound, preperations, and all post-production tasks for small video projects for online distribution.
For larger projects, Ólafur has experience working as a DP with a crew, commanding a small team to incorporate lighting, set dressing, and actions into the composition. Ólafur has primarily experience working on Sony and Blackmagic Design systems, but is capable of quickly learning the ropes of other camera systems. Limited experience with Canon and ARRI systems, but hopeful the opportunity will arise soon.
